Byelorussian Iron and Steel Works (BMZ) has announced that in 2009 it expects to increase its debar and steel fiber production capacities.

Thus, in July-August 2009 BMZ will start the installment of two new lines for the production of cold deformed steel bars of 6-12 mm in diameter, of DIN488 grade. The lines in question will be supplied by the Italian wire machinery manufactures association GCR Eurodraw, and will have a total capacity of about 40,000 mt of debar per year. Currently, BMZ produces rebar at its DJR line (Italy), the annual capacity of which amounts to 24,000 mt.

Moreover, BMZ is also finishing the installation of new steel fiber producing units, which will allow the plant to increase its output to about 3,600 mt of steel fiber per year. In February BMZ plans to produce 120 mt of fiber - up 20 percent compared to January.
