Benxi Iron and Steel posts record H1 crude steel and pig iron outputs

In the first half of 2010, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel posted record output levels of crude steel and pig iron, reaching 4.8275 million mt and 4.8996 million mt respectively.

In addition, the output volumes of the company's main products all exceeded the targeted levels. For the period in question, the steelmaker's hot rolled coil output was 4.6063 million mt, its cold rolled coil output was 1.7241 million mt, its coke production reached 2.2984 million mt, its special steel output came to 321,000 mt, while its iron ore concentrate production totaled 3.2028 million mt.
