ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has said that in August this year it registered month-on-month decreases in its outputs due to the shortage of sinter for pig iron production.

"Part of the decline in August production was due to unsatisfactory work of the sinter plant," ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih's CE Rinat Starkov said, adding that this allowed the company to reduce its finished product inventories in warehouses and to improve its working capital.
"Our plans for September are to stabilize production and look at the market. Yet, the signals from the market, I would say, are restrained," Mr. Starkov said.
