ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that in 2016 it produced seven million mt of steel, increasing by 11.1 percent compared to 2015, reaching the highest level since 2008.
The company stated that in 2016, with its investment program, it exceeded its steel production plan by ten percent. As part of its investment program, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih commissioned the new pulverized coal injection (PCI) system at its blast furnace (BF) No. 9 in October last year and it also plans to build a second continuous casting machine and a ladle furnace in the near future.
Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih also stated that it will continue to develop new steel grades with high added-value and expand its product range, which has a positive effect on its profits. In the current year, the company will continue the implementation of major investment projects, which will reduce production costs, increase productivity and significantly improve the ecological situation in Kryvyi Rih and in the whole region.
