Germany-based ArcelorMittal Bremen, a subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has supplied 303,000 mt of steel for the construction of the Trans-Anatolian pipeline project (TANAP), the largest order received in the history of ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products from an oil and gas company. The deliveries started in 2015 and lasted for two years.

According to the company’s statement, the steel supplied is an X70, high-end grade for pipeline applications that has a very high thickness. ArcelorMittal Bremen is one of the few mills in the world that can produce this product.

TANAP is a 2,000 km natural gas pipeline that crosses Turkey, from the Shah-Deniz field in Azerbaijan to the European border, helping to secure the supply of energy to Europe.
