SMS Siemag to upgrade hot-wide-strip mill at ArcelorMittal Ghent

German plantmaker SMS Siemag has announced that it will upgrade the hot-wide-strip mill at ArcelorMittal Ghent in Belgium.

ArcelorMittal Ghent will improve the quality of its products and expand its porfolio, epecially of high-strength and multi-phase grades through this seven-stand hot-wide-strip mill, aiming at making its Ghent-based mill meet the needs of future market requirements.

According to SMS Siemag, the first phase of this project is scheduled to take place during the regular shutdown at the end of 2015. In December 2016, SMS Siemag plans to complete the main and second phase of this project which will support the close partnership between ArcelorMittal Ghent and SMS Siemag.
