AK Steel announces stainless steel price hike

AK Steel has announced it will increase prices for its stainless steel products by about 6 percent. The price increase, effective May 21, applies to all hot and cold rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular quality, and continuous mill plate products. AK said it will accomplish the price increase by reducing the functional discount rate by two percent. The company will also increase extras for polish finish by 17 percent.
