350,000 mt of dated steel capacity to be eliminated in Yunnan in 2011

The authorities in the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan have announced that they intend to eliminate 5.17 million mt of dated industrial production capacity in 2011, involving more than 50 companies in 10 industrial sectors.

Accordingly, of the various industrial sectors, in 2011 1.8 million mt of annual output capacity will be eliminated in the province's coke industry, 1.68 million mt capacity will be eliminated in the iron industry, while 350,000 mt capacity will be eliminated in the steelmaking industry and 61,500 mt will be eliminated in the province's ferroalloy industry.
