Henan Province to eliminate 2.271 million mt of dated steel capacity in 2011

The Chinese province of Henan is to eliminate dated or inefficient production capacities in 15 industries in the current year, affecting a total of 158 companies.

The annual production capacities to be eliminated in Henan Province in 2011 include 1,184,800 mt of iron-making capacity, 2,271,000 mt of steel production capacity, 30,500 mt of electrolytic aluminum capacity, 111,000 mt of ferroalloy output capacity, 2.1 million mt of coke capacity and 9.65 million mt of cement production capacity.
