Bellzone Mining completes first iron ore shipment from Forécariah JV

London-listed Bellzone Mining has announced that it made the first iron ore shipment from the Forécariah joint venture in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa on December 26, 2012. The 63,000 mt iron ore shipment from the port of Konta was completed ahead of schedule.
 
According to Bellzone, the transshipment did not perform as well as expected and the re-engineering process will take at least six months. After the re-engineering, the use of geared ships is expected to increase the shipping costs.
