According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year
Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 222,210 metric tons, rising 58.4 compared to the same month of 2011 and up 13.1 percent compared to April this year. Meanwhile, in May the revenue generated by
Turkey's chrome ore exports totaled $45.7 million, increasing 18 percent compared to April this year and up 19 percent on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in the first five months of 2012
Turkey's chrome ore exports decreased by 7.3 percent to 832,900 metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $168.9 million, down by 13.7 percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.
In the first five months of this year,
Turkey's chrome ore exports to
China fell 6.3 percent to 714,369 mt, while the country's chrome ore exports to
Sweden and to
Russia decreased by 28.2 percent and 6.4 percent to 63,000 mt and 31,250 mt respectively, all compared to the first five months of 2011.
