The most commonly heard spot price transaction range for US domestic API X-42 line pipe continues to hold in the approximate range of $45-$47 cwt. ($992-$1036/mt or $900-$940/nt), ex-Midwest mill, although sources close to SteelOrbis say they believe another price increase could be imminent.

“The domestic mills are getting booked,” one source said. “I've heard several mills mention being booked up until May, possibly beyond. If the domestic manufacturers haven't put their second shifts back to work, they should probably start soon.”

In terms of imports, trader sources note that Korean API X-42 line pipe in the US domestic market is being heard at $44-$45 cwt. ($970-$992/mt or $880-$900/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, although it’s believed that Korean pricing could be revised upward after the close of the Chinese New Year holiday.
