The situation in the Italian welded pipe market still remains unfavorable. Italian welded pipe suppliers are discouraged by the slowdown in consuming sectors amid the ongoing bad economic outlook across Europe, as well as by poor demand from foreign buyers. Domestic welded pipe prices in Italy have declined by around €10/mt over the past month, but in US dollar terms prices have remained unchanged due to currency fluctuations. In the given period, export offers of welded pipes from Italian producers have decreased by €5-20/mt, but in US dollar terms prices have declined by a maximum of $11/mt. Italian suppliers of welded pipes will likely try to keep their prices stable in the coming period, though ongoing poor demand and weak fundamentals will continue to weigh on the market.
