U.S. pricing for imported Turkish tubing

Offers from Turkish suppliers have been firming up for tubing to the US market. January and February arrival offers now range from $580 to $610/metric tons ($526.16 to $553.38/net tons) CFR FO US Gulf Ports. This is a price increase of about $20 to $30/mt ($18.14 to $27.22/nt) from a few weeks ago. Most of these mills have a range from ½” to 6” square, A500 Grade A and Grade B. 16 and heavier gauge tubing typically carries an extra. Pricing is trending upward as the demand has been increasing due to uncertainty created by Hurricane Katrina and fast increasing flat rolled prices.
