In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Houston-area sources continue to report that damage to on-the-ground inventory is still being evaluated. “As of late last week, the ports were OK, but the pipe yards were under water,” a source said.

However, in terms of the energy sector as a whole, another source told SteelOrbis they believe things “should come back online pretty quickly.”

Import pricing, meanwhile, has remained stable week-over-week.

Prices for imported J55 ERW OCTG casing from Taiwan in the US domestic market are still being heard at $41.00-$42.50 cwt. ($904-$937/mt or $820-$850/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.

Prices for imported J55 ERW OCTG from Korea in the US domestic market are still being heard in the range of $42.50-$44.00 cwt. ($937-$970/mt or $850-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, before applicable duties from the antidumping/countervailing duty case.
