US line pipe market trade case rumors grow louder

Despite the fact that little, if anything has changed with regard to both US domestic an import line pipe pricing in the past week, many within the market say they have all eyes on pending oil country tubular goods (OCTG) trade case.  Rumors about a potential line pipe case are growing louder, according to SteelOrbis sources, and the rhetoric, politics and overall trade case climate seems to be favorable.  For now, the most commonly reported US domestic spot price range remains unchanged, still at approximately $51.00-$52.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,146/mt or $1,020-$1,040/nt), ex-Midwest mill, with futures offers out of Taiwan and Vietnam still trending at approximately trend at approximately $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast.
