Pricing for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from offshore sources continues to remain steady, sources say, but overall market activity is trending light.

SteelOrbis sources say this is more about offshore mills quoting December arrivals, which would have buyers needing to pay a substantial year-end inventory tax.  “At this point it really doesn’t matter what price they’re quoting,” a source said. “We’re not buying anything that’s scheduled for arrival before January.”

In terms of current offers, pricing for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from Korea in the US domestic market continue to be heard between $42.50-$44.00 cwt. ($937-$970/mt or $850-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, although those numbers do not account for recently revised dumping duties.

Meanwhile, offers for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from Taiwan in the US domestic market continue to be heard at $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) below this range.
