Players within the US domestic standard pipe market say it’s been an ongoing trend of SSDD (same stuff, different day) since our last report two weeks ago, as order activity, inquiries and spot prices are for the most part unchanged.  Hot rolled coil prices have held steady for the past three weeks, and US domestic scrap prices (in most regions) are on par with prices seen mid-last month.

All of this bodes well for standard pipe mills, whose spot prices have held at approximately $47.00-$48.00 cwt. ($1,036-$1,058/mt or $940-$960/nt) ex-Midwest mill. In terms of offshore offerings, those too, are unchanged.  Futures offers from Vietnamese mills continue to hold at approximately $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt), while futures offers from Taiwan are still at $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt), respectively,  both DDP loaded truck in US Gulf Coast ports.
