The US domestic Grade A-53 ERW black plain end (BPE) standard pipe market has experienced little, if any change since our last report two weeks ago, with prices, activity and inquiries holding on par with where they were in the first part of the month.

The most commonly reported US domestic spot price range has trended lateral at approximately 442.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt) ex-Midwest mill, while futures offer prices from Korea, Turkey and Vietnam also holding at approximately $33.00-$35.00 cwt. ($728-$772/mt or $660-$700/nt), DDP loaded truck US Gulf Coast ports.

As with our last report, both onshore and offshore mills remain hungry for orders, and anyone looking to bring some hefty tons to the table can easily negotiate deals below the average ranges.  “If the mills can still make a little money off the deal, they’re happy to see what they can do,” according to one Midwest-based source.
