The situation in the Iranian seamless pipe market has remained unfavorable due to weak demand, poor liquidity, the global downward trend and also due to seasonal effects. Prices of domestic production seamless pipes have declined by $20-30/mt over the past month. In the given period, import offers of Ukrainian and Russian material have decreased by $10-30/mt, while quotations of seamless pipes from China have declined by a maximum of $20/mt. With poor demand prevailing throughout the market, the situation is unlikely to improve in the coming short-term period.
Current domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, have remained in the range of $980-1,020/mt ex-works.
Stockists' quotations of Iranian 1 1/4"-3" seamless pipes, grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $1,320-1,450/mt.
Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6", grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $620-650/mt CFR Bandar Abbas.
Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes of 2"-6" size, grade B as per ASTM A106, are in a range of around $990-1,010/mt CFR.
Russian pipes of 2"-6", grade B as per ASTM A106 or GOST, are being offered to northern Iranian ports at $1,000-1,050/mt CFR.
