The general situation in the Bulgarian welded pipe market has not seen any dramatic change during the last two weeks. Domestic prices for Bulgarian welded pipes have declined by a maximum of BGN 20/mt ($12/mt) over the given period, while export quotations have stayed in the previous range, while overall transaction activity has remained poor amid seasonal factors and the slack economy in Europe. Most market players do not expect any recovery in the near future, due to existing local and global conditions.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 950-980/mt ($549-566/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €480-510/mt ($542-576/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis.
In particular, export offers of Bulgarian pipes to Germany are at levels of €480-490/mt ($542-554/mt) ex-works, while offers to Poland and Hungary are at €490-510/mt ($554-577/mt) ex-works. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €500-530/mt ($566-600/mt) ex-works.
