Romanian producers have been forced to reduce their quotations due to poor buying activity in both the domestic and export markets during the summer vacation season and also amid the economic and financial uncertainty in the region. Thus, over the past month domestic quotations have decreased by €50/mt ($62/mt), while export offers have declined by €20-40/mt ($25-50/mt). The Romanian market for seamless pipes is expected to remain in a lull until the end of August, which means prices may stay unchanged.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €900-950/mt ($1,106-1,178/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €960-980/mt ($1,190-1,215/mt) FCA, 12"-16" seamless pipes are quoted at €985-1,085/mt ($1,221-1,345/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,260/mt ($1,562/mt) FCA, all for October production.

Import offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €1,020-1,030/mt ($1,265-1,277/mt) CPT.
