The seamless pipe market in Turkey has been quiet over the past month as business activity slowed to a minimum during Ramadan. Most import prices of seamless pipes for Turkish customers have remained stable over the past month amid low interest of Turkish buyers in purchases during Ramadan and during the subsequent holiday. Only offers of Chinese seamless pipes have declined over the past month, softening by $10-20/mt. However, the majority of market participants are quite optimistic regarding post-holiday developments in the Turkish market for seamless pipes. Seamless pipe suppliers may seek to raise their prices in the coming period due to the anticipated rebound in business activity in August.
Chinese suppliers are offering seamless pipes of 2"-12" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L to the Turkish market in the price range of $730-780/mt CFR.
Ukrainian producers' offers for 60-273 mm seamless pipes of grade 10, 20 as per GOST are being given to the Turkish market at about $850-880/mt CFR, while 2"-10" pipes as per ASTM/API are quoted at around $860-900/mt CFR.
Russian producer ChTPZ Group (Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works) is offering 2"-6" seamless hot-formed pipes of grade B made to ASTM at about $780-820/mt CFR.
Import offers of seamless pipes from Romania (ArcelorMittal), 3"-10" of grade B made to ASTM A106 or API 5L, are being given to the Turkish market at around $1,290-1,350/mt CPT.
