Activity in the Iranian seamless pipe market has been quiet over the past month. Foreign suppliers have maintained their prices for Iran at December levels, while domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes have declined by $25-30/mt over the past month. At the moment, there is no sign of any likely improvement in the seamless pipe market. As the Iranian New Year is approaching, lack of liquidity and financing problems will increase the pressure on seamless pipe suppliers. Seamless pipe prices may continue to decline in the coming period in Iran as demand has been slackening despite low inventory levels.

Current domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, have remained in the range of $920-975/mt ex-works.

Stockists' quotations of Iranian 1"-3" seamless pipes, grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $1,110-1,210/mt.

Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6", grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $600-640/mt CFR Bandar Abbas.

Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes of 2"-6" size, grade B as per ASTM A106, are in a range of around $970-1,000/mt CFR.

Russian pipes of 2"-6", grade B as per ASTM A106 or GOST, are being offered to northern Iranian ports at $1,000-1,030/mt CFR.
