Business activity remains extremely low in the Spanish seamless pipe market on account of the ongoing summer season. However, domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have held steady over the past month. Most foreign suppliers have managed to keep their offers for the Spanish market stable, while only offers of Chinese and Ukrainian materials have declined during the period in question, softening by €5-10/mt ($7-13/mt). Market players expect seamless pipe prices to remain fairly firm, with little fluctuation anticipated in the coming month. Market sentiment and seamless pipe demand in Spain will remain vulnerable due to the slow recovery of the economy and of the construction sector in the country.

Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-4" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €920-950/mt ($1,242-1,282/mt) ex-works.

Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €950-980/mt ($1,282-1,323/mt) FOB.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €615-650/mt ($830-877/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B according to API 5L, are being given to Spain at €770-800/mt ($1,039-1,080/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 13.8 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 8"-10" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,050-1,100/mt ($1,417-1,485/mt) CPT.
