Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have indicated a stable trend during the past seven days, supported by increases in prices of billet and raw materials. Overall trading activity has improved slightly and is at normal levels since the weather is still mostly warm. However, production volumes have remained at high levels, which exerts pressure on prices. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate minor fluctuations.
Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have moved sideways during the past week, with prices supported by higher prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity has been at normal levels. However, since the off-season is coming, most traders have kept their prices stable in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may rebound slightly.
