Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and hot summer weather. The weakness of demand has led most traders to reduce their quoted prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate small fluctuations.
Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have mostly fluctuated on a slightly upward trend during the past week, supported by increases in prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity has been weak. Downstream demand is mainly in wait-and-see mode. As for the week ahead, considering the support from the cost side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may move sideways or up slightly.
