As with last week, spot and futures prices for
US domestic API X-42 electric resistance welded (ERW) line pipe have trended sideways, although many within the domestic market wonder how long this trend will hold. The final determinations in the still-pending antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) trade case against names offshore producers of oil country
tubular goods (OCTG) casing is set to come out in July, and if the final margins are higher than initially suspected, this could bode well for those pushing for a line pipe filing.
For now, order activity and inquiries are steady, but nothing to write home about, with
US domestic prices still trending at $51.00-$52.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,146/mt or $1,020-$1,040/nt), ex-Midwest mill, while futures prices out of
Vietnam and
Taiwan can still be found at approximately $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck
US Gulf coast.
