Under the influence of costlier raw materials, the Spanish market has seen an increase in seamless pipe prices over the past month. Meanwhile, demand in the Spanish seamless pipe market has remained rather sluggish. Domestic and export prices for Spanish seamless pipes have increased by €10-20/mt ($11-22/mt) over the past month. In the given period, import offers of Italian materials have risen by a maximum of €30/mt ($32/mt). At the same time, quotations of Chinese seamless pipes have moved down by €10-25/mt ($11-27/mt), while prices for Ukrainian material have decreased by €30-40/mt ($32-43/mt) during the given period. Market players think conditions in the Spanish seamless pipe market will not change significantly in the near future. Seamless pipe suppliers are not going to lower their prices given their high production costs, while it will also be difficult for them to raise their prices amid the slackness of demand in the summer period.
