Buying activity in the Turkish market for seamless pipes has remained slack over the past month. Turkish buyers are in no hurry to import seamless pipes due to sluggish demand from consuming industries. Despite slow buying activity in the Turkish seamless pipe market, most foreign suppliers have increased their offers over the past month on the back of higher production costs. Only import offers of seamless pipes from China have declined by $20-50/mt over the past month. Quotations of Romanian pipes have moved up by a maximum of $10/mt. Offers of Russian and Ukrainian seamless pipes have increased by $10-30/mt over the past month. Meanwhile, demand for seamless pipes in the Turkish market is expected to be moderate during the rest of this year in view of the coming winter season and the slowdown in the global market.
Chinese suppliers are offering seamless pipes of 2"-12" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L to the Turkish market in the price range of $650-700/mt CFR.
