Shortage of demand has caused the Iranian seamless pipe market to move on a downward trend during the past month. Prices of domestic production seamless pipes have declined by $20-30/mt over the past month. In the given period, import offers of Chinese, Ukrainian and Russian material have decreased by $10-20/mt. Market insiders believe seamless pipe offers in the country may remain soft in the coming period owing to the unstable economic situation, the lack of liquidity and seasonally-low buying activity.

Current domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, have remained in the range of $950-1,000/mt ex-works.

Stockists' quotations of Iranian 1 1/4"-3" seamless pipes, grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $1,195-1,310/mt.

Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6", grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $610-640/mt CFR Bandar Abbas.

Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes of 2"-6" size, grade B as per ASTM A106, are in a range of around $970-1,000/mt CFR.

Russian pipes of 2"-6", grade B as per ASTM A106 or GOST, are being offered to northern Iranian ports at $1,000-1,030/mt CFR.
