Unfavorable conditions in foreign markets for seamless pipes continue to depress export prices of Russian and Ukrainian suppliers. Over the past month, most CIS seamless pipe exporters have cut their offers by $10-20/mt. Buyers from the US and the Middle East are still showing some interest in CIS seamless pipes, while in Europe business activity remains low. Market players believe that Russian and Ukrainian seamless pipe suppliers will try to keep their export price levels unchanged throughout summer, while overseas demand for standard seamless pipes is likely to decline in view of the approaching holiday season in Europe and due to Ramadan in the Middle East. Export prices from Ukrainian mill Interpipe for July production hot-formed seamless pipes of 42-168 mm diameter, of 10, 20 steel grades, as per GOST 8731/8732, currently vary in the range of $880-900/mt FOB, while seamless pipes made to ASTM A106 are quoted at around $900-1,030/mt FOB. Export offers of 2"-6" pipes of grade B as per API 5L are at levels of $920-1,080/mt FOB. Export offers of July production seamless pipes of 60-168 mm diameter, of 10, 20 steel grades according to GOST 8731/8732 or ASTM A106 from Ukraine's Dnepropetrovsk Tube Works are at $880-900/mt FOB, while export prices of 42-48 mm diameter are at $900-930/mt FOB. Export offers of 1" seamless pipes of grade B as per ASTM A106 are at around 1,030-1,050/mt FOB. ChTPZ Group's export quotations for August production hot-formed pipes with diameter of 60.3-219 mm made to GOST 8731/8732 from 10, 20 steel grades or as per ASTM A106 are at $830-860/mt FOB. Seamless pipes with 57-219 mm diameter of 10, 20 steel grades as per GOST 8731/8732 from Volzhsky Pipe Plant (TMK Group, Russia) are quoted in the range of $900-930/mt FOB.
