The general situation in the Bulgarian welded pipe market has not undergone any dramatic change during the last two weeks. Demand from foreign customers remains at rather low levels due to the offseason in Europe, while the buying activity of local consumers is also soft amid seasonally low construction activity in Bulgaria. Welded pipe producers in Bulgaria have kept their domestic and export prices almost unchanged over the past two weeks. Market participants expect that the stable price trend will continue in the coming two-week period, but after that Bulgarian welded pipe prices may increase slightly on the back of anticipated higher demand.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 920-930/mt ($538-544/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on actual weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €430-445/mt ($490-507/mt) FCA on theoretical weight basis or at €450-465/mt ($513-530/mt) FCA on actual weight basis.
