Turkish mills revise domestic scrap purchase prices in line with their positions

Over the past week, Turkish mills have followed diverse price strategies, raising or reducing their prices or keeping them stable, according to their own positions and needs. Some producers have kept their domestic scrap procurement prices stable. Due to the fluctuation of the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate, dollar-based prices have declined by $1/mt week on week. Some Turkish mills have cut their prices by TRY 150-350/mt or $6-14/mt during this period. Other steelmakers have increased their prices by TRY 100-200/mt or $3-7/mt.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is currently at TRY 8,700-9,755/mt ($322-361/mt), from TRY 7,900-9,900/mt ($293-367/mt).
