Turkish mills raise domestic scrap prices

Over the past two weeks, Turkish mills have mostly increased their local scrap procurement prices. The upward revision totaled TRY 100-1,000/mt or $7-45/mt. Following the Turkish Central Bank’s decision for interest rates, Turkish lira gained significant strength against the US dollar and this impacted the changes recorded in dollar-basis.

The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is currently in the range of TRY 9,000-10,350/mt ($340-391/mt), from TRY 8,800-9,755/mt ($325-361/mt).
