Turkish mills have once again increased their domestic scrap prices this week amid the ongoing uptrend of the deep sea and short sea scrap segments and due to the continuing depreciation of the Turkish lira against the major currencies. Producers announced increases of TRY 200-800/mt or $5-26/mt week on week. The rising trend of the local Turkish scrap market is expected to continue as offer prices in the deep sea segment are still moving up.

While the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has moved up from TRY 9,300-10,650/mt to TRY 9,800-11,000/mt, dollar-based quotations have increased from $329-373/mt to $342-384/mt.
