Turkish domestic scrap prices follow general market mood, remaining unchanged

Along with the relatively stable movement observed in the import scrap segment, Turkish mills’ local scrap procurement prices have also mostly moved sideways this week. This stability has resulted in a $2-4/mt decrease in prices on dollar basis due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. A few steel mills have increased their prices by TRY 100-200/mt, softening the impact of the weaker lira. The general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still at TRY 9,000-10,150/mt ($328-370/mt).
