Turkish domestic dollar-based scrap prices continue to decline

Turkish mills have mostly kept their domestic scrap prices stable over the past week, while a few producers decided to cut their purchase quotations in this period. The declines announced by some mills were in the range of TRY 100-200/mt week on week. With the Turkish lira’s ongoing depreciation against the US dollar, all Turkish producers’ dollar-based prices have declined by $2-10/mt in the same term. While the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap is still at TRY 9,000-10,150/mt, dollar-based quotations have declined from $324-365/mt to $321-363/mt.
