Niobium ferroalloys in small ingots were sold over the last three months in the Brazilian domestic market at BRL 65,000/mt, CFR, full taxes conditions, a source from a local slab producer told SteelOrbis.
In September, the Brazilian exports of niobium ferroalloys declined by half from August to 3,500 mt, at an average FOB two percent higher, $20,105/mt, pointing to exports by CBMM, the world’s largest producer, at $20,189/mt FOB, while sales by the plant located in the state of Goias, recently sold by Anglo American to China Molybdenum, were closed at $19,911/mt FOB.
The main destinations of the exports in September were Asia (1,600 mt, of which 690 mt to China), the EU (1,100 mt) and the US (700 mt), while smaller tonnages were shipped to Canada and Turkey.
