With another sharp decline in iron ore prices in the Chinese spot market, the price of the commodity in Brazil has declined by an estimated $10/mt in the last week, returning to levels last seen in November 2016.

Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are now traded for export from Brazil at $51/mt, lumps at $54/mt and blast furnace grade pellets at $96/mt, FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, the prices are now $45/mt for sinter feed fines, $48/mt for lumps and $90/mt for blast furnace grade pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.

According to Brazil’s foreign trade authority, Secex, iron ore export figures for April are on pace to show a significant decline from export tonnages in March.
