Pig iron prices decline in Brazil

A Brazilian source close to SteelOrbis said that pig iron of the steelmaking grade is currently traded for export in a range of $250/mt to $260/mt, FOB conditions, against $260/mt to $270/mt FOB one month ago.

For the foundry nodular grade, the source mentioned $280/mt, also FOB conditions, against $288/mt one month ago.

In July, Brazil exported the steelmaking grade in average at $268/mt, price deals probably closed in May, with the US (81,000 mt), the EU (58,000 mt), Asia (57,300 mt) and Mexico (48,700mt) comprising the main destinations.
