Brazil exported 6,400 mt of niobium ferroalloys in May, 44 percent more than in April, according to the country’s ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.
The average FOB price declined by 2.5 percent to $21,030/mt, FOB conditions, pointing to CBMM exporting the product at $21,096/mt and the local arm of Anglo American exporting at $20,637/mt, reductions from April by 2.9 and 1.1 percent, respectively.
In the Brazilian domestic market, niobium ferroalloys are sold to steel producers at BRL 70,600/mt ($20,528/mt), CFR conditions, full taxes, a price stable in BRL in one month, although slightly increased in $ terms due to exchange rate variations.
