In both February and March this year, scrap quotations in Germany had recorded an average month-on-month decrease of €15-16/mt ($19-20/mt), while in April prices had increased by €12-19/mt ($15-24/mt) compared to the previous month. In May this year, local scrap prices in Germany had decreased on average by €1.92/mt ($2.4/mt) month on month. In June price decreases of €2-4/mt ($3-5/mt) were recorded, while in July prices had remained generally stable. In August, local scrap prices had increased by €7/mt ($9/mt), while in September a very slight price increase was registered.
On the other hand, in the first 20 days of October this year, German domestic scrap prices indicated a decrease of €6/mt ($8/mt) on year-on-year basis.
