According to the latest figures provided by German steel scrap recycler association (BDSV), during the first twenty days of October domestic steel scrap prices in Germany saw decreases in the range of €10-15/mt ($14-21/mt). Local scrap prices had increased in August and September, following decreases recorded in the April-July period of this year. The current situation in the German scrap market contrasts with that in the Italian market where scrap availability is low and prices are increasing.
