The Italian domestic scrap market has been moving on an upward trend since the last week of June on the back of increases in scrap prices in the international market and stronger scrap demand from Italian mills as they want to stock up before the beginning of the holidays in August. This upward price trend should lose its momentum in the coming period, with both mills and scrap traders interrupting their activities due to the summer holidays. According to sources, market activities should resume at the end of August and will determine the trend of scrap prices in September.
