Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are reportedly exported from Brazil at $42/mt and lumps at $46/mt, FOB conditions, an average increase of $1/mt from last week, reflecting the higher prices in the Chinese spot market and increased freight costs.

The price of blast furnace pellets is now at $77/mt, FOB conditions, an increase from $70/mt last week, reflecting also a premium increased to $35/mt in relation to sinter feed fines, against $32/mt in recent weeks.

In the Brazilian domestic market, such prices are estimated at $38/mt for sinter feed fines, $43/mt for lumps and $73/mt for pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.

The Brazilian exports of iron ore (pellets excluded) in September were stable at 32.6 million mt, while the country’s exports of pellets increased in the period by 20.5 percent to 2.7 million mt.
