India’s government-run iron ore pellet producer KIOCL Limited has floated a tender seeking bids for supply of 100,000 mt of iron ore fines (hematite), company sources said on Tuesday, August 22.

The sources said that the last date for submission of bids has been set for September 18.

According to the sources, the order would be split into a maximum of four, and bids would be permitted for part quantity of the fines on offer subject to a minimum volume of 20,000 mt.

It may be noted that KIOCL Limited recently shut down its 3 million mt per year capacity pellet plant located in Mangalore in the south, without citing any specific reason.
