India’s state-run KIOCL Limited has floated a tender for domestic or international sourcing of 250,000 mt of iron ore concentrate for its 3 million mt per year capacity pellet plant at Mangalore in the southern state of Karnataka, company sources said on Thursday, September 21.

The last date for submission of bids has been set for October 11.

It has been stipulated that the ordered quantity would need to be supplied within 45 days of the date of issue of a purchase order to the successful bidder.

If transportation is by the sea route, it would have to be with “geared vessel” capable of handling a parcel volume of 50,000 mt each.

Earlier this week, KIOCL Limited had floated a tender for domestic sourcing of 100,000 mt of iron ore fines to feed the same pellet plant.
