According to sources, ex-US West coast containerized HMS I/II 80:20 deals the week ended June 16 are at $247-250/mt CFR Taiwan. Deals above $250 that were rumored early in the week were not confirmed. The week encountered higher volumes purchased compared to previous weeks as Japanese H2 scrap cargos were heard offered at $260-270/mt CFR Taiwan during the week.

A source noted, “Due to the regained strength of Japanese H2 scrap, which traditionally trades only slightly above the US, both US material prices and volumes sold have room to increase.”

West coast offers for HMS I/II 80:20 are presently at $255-258/mt CFR Taiwan.
