Although import rebar offers have not softened further since the end of last week, sources tell SteelOrbis that US domestic rebar prices are still soft, with dealmaking becoming more prevalent for small and medium size offers.

This week, spot prices for US domestic rebar have dipped down to $30.75-$32.25 cwt. ($615-$645/nt or $678-$711/mt) ex-mill, reflecting a decrease of $0.50 cwt. ($10/nt or $11/mt) since prices reported last week. Sources tell SteelOrbis that spot prices are not expected to soften too much more, considering the looming final determinations in the trade case against rebar from Turkey, Japan and Taiwan.
